One of the most fascinating things about Google is their propensity for doing things simply because they can. Love 'em or hate 'em for it, you can't knock the their seemingly bottomless curiosity, and sense of wonder for all things technology.

The company recently teamed up with European mapping solutions provider Ubilabs to give technophiles a down-and-dirty Street View of Miniatur Wonderland, the world's largest model train set!

Located in Hamburg, Germany, the over 1,300 square Miniatur Wonderland boasts more than 13 kilometers of track, nearly a thousand trains, a fully functioning airport and harbor, and almost a quarter million 'people' – tiny figurines that populate this amazing and tiny world. And now, you can get in on the ground floor.

Using tiny, custom-built cameras, nearly every square inch of Miniatur Wonderland has been meticulously photographed and mapped out by Ubilabs and Google, providing endless opportunities for exploration.

Check out the video below to get a birds-eye view of this amazing construction, and then head over to Google's project page and get lost in Miniatur Wonderland!
